ignore script-updated web/gopher/gemini content
...
adds a global IGNORE list that is checked before stat-ing web,
gemini, and gopher folders. this list can include any path to
targets that are not handled elsewhere by this script, (such as
gab, linkulator, etc.)

I'm not convinced I understand what's going on. This text has been
around since the marker was introduced in Dec 2021, so maybe I'm missing
something. I'd love to be educated on this score.
